| On Wednesday, January 20th, Buena Park Rotary Club members honored Orange County Supervisor Chris Norby with a surprise Rotary Carrot cake to congratulate him on his election to the State Assembly. Norby as our song leader led us in a rousing rendition of “California, here we come!” after which we continued with “For he’s a jolly good fellow!” His office staff members Bruce, Mark & Denis, joined in with us, as did our other guest Steven Sarkis.
Chris will remain an active member, attending as often as he can. He has been a steadfast volunteer with our community service events. One example is Chris and Bruce are volunteers each year to work at our Fireworks fundraising booth.
We will all miss Chris when he’s in Sacramento and unable to attend our weekly meetings. Most of all his enthusiastic song-leading abilities will be missed. Another area where he will missed is during our lively club discussions, on history. Chris has vast knowledge of history.
